Your tour is likely to include a visit to one of our two digital state-of-the-art television production studios, an on-air radio studio, a news studio and control room, as well as an insight into a variety of other ABC services, including Archives and New Media.

Powerhouse Museum Discovery Centre, Castle Hill

There are several ways for schools to viit the Powerhouse Discovery Centre. Supervised and themed tours can be tailored to each group's specific interests and needs in order to meet the KLA requirements.

DESIGN, MAKE, EVALUATE!
Design, Make, Evaluate has been developed for Years 7 and 8 Technology Mandatory students. This program investigates the design process, with a focus on opportunities for designing, factors affecting design and the importance of designing for ecological sustainability. The visit includes a hands-on activity using the EcoLogic kit, enabling students to handle product samples which have a positive impact on the environment. Cost: $10 students/$7 PSP schools (One teacher free per 10 students), Available: Tuesdays-Fridays, 10 am-4pm. Bookings essential: (02) 9762 1300




Sydney Olympic Park: Technology Program

The Landscape & Enviro Design excursion program aims to deepen students’ understanding of environmental and landscape design practices and related technologies.

Reflecting the syllabus Area of Study: ‘Built Environments’, students explore design and environmental management in the precinct of Sydney Olympic Park via a range of field-based activities around recycled water, assessing the usability and safety of newly landscaped public recreation spaces, soil sample testing and planting for a purpose.

Students also undertake 'Design Scene Investigations’ and are challenged to explore issues about environmental sustainable practices and develop their own designs whilst managing water and soil wisely.

Taronga Zoo

Taronga Zoo is an important resource when learning about Environmental Education. Lessons and teaching resources are based on learning outcomes drawn from the NSW school curriculum. Lessons and workshops are available at the Education Centre and ‘Backyard to Bush’ .These classrooms are the ultimate tool, allowing educators to motivate students by introducing them to live animals in their habitat. A visit to Taronga Zoo gives young and old alike the skills and enthusiasm to actively participate in the care and conservation of flora and fauna in their own communities.
