Seymour Centre School Shows
www.seymourcentre.com
OCTOBER SCHOOLS SHOWS @ THE SEYMOUR

Bring your students to one of two great shows at the Seymour Centre this October. Technology and dance interact in CHUNKY MOVE: GLOW, and a classic British black comedy is brilliantly staged in A DAY IN THE DEATH OF JOE EGG.

Chunky Move: Glow
Movement meets technology in this hugely inventive performance by one of Australia’s leading dance companies, Chunky Move. Glow utilises the latest interactive video technologies to generate a digital landscape manipulated in real time by the performer, rendering no two performances the same. Glow is suitable for students interested in science and the arts. A post-show Q&A will explore the role that technology can play in performance.

Students will also have the opportunity to interact with the free foyer on display as part of the 2010 SEAM symposium taking place at the Seymour Centre. The event, which will focus on digital technologies in performance, includes the ‘Thinking Head’, Australia’s first thinking robot created by visual artist and performer Stelarc.
Suitable for Years 8-12

School Performances: Thursday 14 October, 11am and 2pm

HOT PIES AND POTATO CRISPS

The Team
Troubadour Theatre, established in 1989, specialises in touring - Theatre for Young People - into primary and high schools. The performer, Brett Hunt, has a BCA in Acting from Wollongong University and has been a touring musician and actor for the last 10 years. He has released three acclaimed studio records and shared the stage with Taj Mahal, Roger McGuinn (The Byrds), Dr John, Bela Fleck, The Waifs, Lior and many more.

A Celebration of Australian Poetry
HOT PIES AND POTATO CRISPS, performed by the talented young actor/musician Brett Hunt, is singing, guitar & harmonica playing and acting at its very best. The script is a rich selection of poetry spanning generations of Australian writing. Poachers, bushrangers, colonials, pioneers, the migrant experience, diggers in the trenches, contemporary living and loving, Aussie hip hop, fast cars and the varied experience of youth are some of the themes explored in this hilariously quirky, and sometimes serious, poetic exploration of Australia.
